Microsoft to raise Xbox console prices worldwide

Listen to article

Microsoft has announced a global price increase for Xbox consoles starting August 1, 2026. The company cites rising storage and memory costs.

The 512GB Xbox models will increase by USD 100 while 1TB models will see a USD 150 price hike. Microsoft also confirmed that it is discontinuing the 2TB Xbox model.

This means that the Xbox Series S 512GB will have a price tag of USD 499.99. Meanwhile, the Xbox Series X 1TB will be USD 749.99.

According to the company, memory and storage prices have risen by more than 2.5 times. There is another increase expected by late 2027. Microsoft noted that game consoles are typically sold at or below manufacturing cost, making them more vulnerable to component price increases.

While Microsoft’s announcement only covers global pricing for now, Filipino buyers should expect local Xbox console prices to increase in the near future as retailers and distributors adjust to the new worldwide MSRP.
