Microsoft has unveiled Project Solara. It is a new chip-to-cloud platform designed to power ‘agent-first’ devices and reshape how people interact with computers.

The Project Solara’s system shifts computing from traditional apps to AI agents that can operate across workflows, devices and services.
It builds on ‘just-in-time UI’ which lets interfaces to adapt dynamically to context and supports multiple AI agents working together across tasks. Microsoft says the goal is to make computing more natural where users express their intent in language rather than navigating apps.

Project Solara will run on enterprise-grade infrastructure with identity and security tools like Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Entra ID. It also integrates with tools such as GitHub Copilot and Microsoft 365 Copilot.
Microsoft is working with Qualcomm and MediaTek to build reference devices including wearable and desktop concepts.
