Sony’s Summer Game Fest 2026 revealed a wave of new PlayStation 5 announcements. It includes major franchise returns, new game reveals and release date updates.
One of the biggest announcements was Resident Evil Veronica, Capcom’s remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica. It is scheduled to launch in 2027. The game will feature modernized gameplay, a reimagined story and updated visuals.
Square Enix also revealed Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the final installment in the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy. The game is set to arrive in 2027 and will conclude the battle against Sephiroth.
Other notable reveals included Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, launching July 9, and Control Resonant, Remedy Entertainment’s sequel to Control, arriving on September 24.
Summer Game Fest 2026 also featured the announcement of Guild Wars 3, the franchise’s first title coming to home consoles. There are also new games such as Gundam Rogue Orbit, Crossfire and gen Atlas from the creators of Shadow of the Colossus.
Additional titles showcased included The Blood of Dawnwalker, launching on September 3, RuneScape: Dragonwilds on September 15, Star Wars: Galactic Racer on October 6 and Stranger Than Heaven on January 15, 2027. Several other projects remain without release dates.
