Sony's Summer Game Fest 2026 revealed a wave of new PlayStation 5 announcements. The PlayStation 5 (PS5) continues to provide one of the best gaming experiences with its regular firmware updates. Rumors about a newer version of the PlayStation 5, dubbed as the ‘PS5 Slim’, has surfaced online. Sony has just announced on their PlayStation Blog that they will be effectively and immediately increasing the recommended retail price (RRP) of the PlayStation 5 (PS5) in the Philippines and in other regions. Sony has just unveiled the design for their next-generation VR headset, the PlayStation VR2. The new device will exclusively work with the PlayStation 5 and will also come with the new VR controller called the PlayStation VR2 Sense. “When I started to work on the design for the PlayStation VR2 headset, one of the areas I wanted to focus on first was the idea of creating a vent in the headset to let air out, similar to the vents on the PS5 console that allows airflow. I hope our PlayStation fans will also agree, and I can’t wait for them to try it out.” says Yujin Morisawa, Senior Art Director, SIE The PS VR2 is also slimmer in design and is lighter than the previous model, even with added technology such as a new built-in motor for the headset feedback.
