Meizu just announced their latest smartphone, the Meizu Zero.

Meizu dubbed the Zero as a phone without holes: no speakers, no buttons, no grilles, no charging ports, and no SIM card slot. The smartphone’s OLED display is layered with 2.5D glass and measures at 5.99 inches. It’s equipped with an in-display fingerprint sensor and a 20MP front camera with facial recognition. As for the body, the smartphone is crafted with a ceramic unibody construction with IP68 waterproof and dustproof design.

A Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor powers the Zero. As for charging, the smartphone can be charged with the use of Meizu’s 18W wireless fast charging technology. It uses a mEngine 2.0 linear motor technology for its virtual power and volume controls to imitate the feel of actual buttons. It also utilizes an eSim technology as there is no SIM card slot. Other features include a Flyme 7 adaptive UI, mSound 2.0 screen sound technology, a 12MP Sony IMX380 + 20MP Sony IMX350 dual camera at the back, and Bluetooth 5.0 for data transferring.

Pricing and availability for the Meizu Zero are yet to be announced. Meizu did state that they expect to release the Zero once phone companies in China begin supporting the eSim technology later this year.
