So it seems that BBM for the iPhone and the iPad is now also available on the iTunes App Store today, just like on Google Play Store.

Compatibility: Requires iOS 6.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad 2 WiFi + 3G, iPad WiFi + Cellular (3rd generation), iPad WiFi + Cellular (4th generation), and iPad mini WiFi + Cellular. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.
