AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO announced
AMD has announced its latest PRO series of Ryzen Threadripper processors, scaling up to 64 cores on a single chip.
Featured first in Lenovo’s ThinkStation P620, the new Threadripper PRO offers users support for PCIe Gen 4 for next-graphics and storage, with 128PCIe Gen 4 lanes. It supports up to 2TB memory, running in 8 channel ECC RDIMM, LRDIMM, and UDIMM DDR4 at speeds of up to 3200MHz.
It also comes with enterprise-grade AMD PRO features, including:
- AMD PRO security – Layers of built-in security features to help protect sensitive data
- AMD PRO manageability – Simplified deployment, imaging, and management compatible with the user’s current infrastructure
- AMD Memory Guard – Full memory encryption to prevent physical attacks
- AMD PRO Business Ready – 18 months of planned software stability and 24 months of planned availability.
