Facebook outs 2016 Year in Review

Each year, Facebook reviews the top moments, events, and trends that people have shared or talked about the most. Today, the company has revealed those topics from the entire year plus the introduction of the top Live videos of 2016 since its availability to the public in April.


Below is the global topics list for this year:

1. US Presidential Election
2. Brazilian Politics
3. Pokemon Go
4. Black Lives Matter
5. Rodrigo Duterte & Philippine Presidential Election
6. Olympics
7. Brexit
8. Super Bowl
9. David Bowie
10. Muhammad Ali


It’s interesting to see that Rodrigo Duterte and the Philippine Presidential election is on the top 5 of the list as well as the anticipated game Pokemon Go. As for the Live videos, check out the top 10 on the global list.

We’re highlighting the most talked-about global topics on Facebook throughout the past year, as well as a list of the top ten Live videos by cumulative views. We’ve created a video that tells the story of this year. We’re also giving people a way to highlight their own meaningful moments of the past year with a personalized video that they can edit and share with family and friends,” said Digs Dimagiba, Country Director – Philippines, Facebook.
