GrabPay Wallet users required to confirm their identities before July 8

GrabPay has sent out a reminder to its users to confirm their identities otherwise, they won’t be able to use GrabPay as a payment option.

The requirement comes after Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) licensed GrabPay as an e-money mobile wallet. With the new status and to comply with BSP, GrabPay would need to verify that all its users are real people. GrabPay also noted that confirming a user’s identity will lessen the risk of fraud, identity theft, money laundering, and other illegal activities.

GrabPay users need to confirm their identities by July 8. Anyone who does not verify their identities will have their GrabPay wallets deactivated.

To verify your identity, here are the following steps:
1. Launch the Grab app.
2. Tap the Payment icon.
3. On the GrabPay wallet screen, tap Confirm Your Identity
4. Confirm your identity using a valid government ID.

If you weren’t able to confirm your identity and had your GrabPay wallet deactivated, you can reactivate by completing the customer identification process.
