HP Chromebook x360 11 G2 Education Edition, Chromebook 11 G7 Education Edition now official

HP added new variants in their Chromebook lineup, the Chromebook x360 11 G2 Education Edition and the Chromebook 11 G7 Education Edition.

The Chromebook x360 11 G2 Education Edition is a new iteration of the company’s Chromebook x360 11 G1 released last 2017. Equipped with a 360-degree hinge and built with a 3-inch Corning Gorilla Glass, the refreshed version measures at 12.04 inches with a display of 11.6 inches. It features a 1.1GHz Celeron chip, about up to 8GB of RAM, and internal storage of 32GB that can be expanded up to 64GB. Optional offers include a Wacom pen and a 5 MP rear-facing camera. The laptop offers users to work in four modes, namely notebook, stand, tablet, or tent.

On the other hand, the Chromebook 11 G7 Education Edition features a 180-degree hinge. It measures the same at 12.04 inches with an 11.6-inch display. Powered by a Celeron processor as well, it features up to 8 GB of RAM with internal storage of 16 GB that can be expanded to 64 GB. HP also offers an optional IPS screen for the 11 G7 EE.

For both laptops, HP has emphasized that they are equipped with spill-proof keyboards and a shock-absorbing molded rubber trim.

Pricing and availability of both Chromebook iterations have yet to be announced. However, Engadget stated that the release would likely happen in April 2019.
