The HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.2 has just been launched. The MatePad Pro sports a 12.2-inch dual-layer QHD+ (2.8K resolution) OLED display. The panel also has a refresh rate of 144Hz and 2,000 nits of peak brightness.

HUAWEI explains that their new dual-layer panel technology improves the lifespan of the screen three-fold, bringing 33% more power-drawing efficiency.

It also features Fangtian Panting Engine 2.0. This supports 8K canvases and 500+ layers while retaining clean strokes at 120fps. In addition, the display has a PaperMatte technology option, supporting the third generation M-Pencil with ultra-low latency.

For its chipset, HUAWEI has yet to give details. However, it’s presumed to be a modified version of the Kirin 9010 from the Pura 70 line. It will come with configurations up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage.

Optics consist of a 13-megapixel shooter with AF paired with an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera. At the front, it will be equipped with an 8-megapixel camera as well.

The tablet will pack a 10,100mAh battery with 100W of fast charging support via USB Type-C. Connectivity-wise, it has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, GNS, Beidou, Galileo, and QZSS.

The HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.2 will run on HarmonyOS 4.2. This offers AI-powered tools like the Celia app, its document and info assistant, and an AI Writer.

Other features consist of a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, quad speakers, and microphones with HUAWEI Sound.

Prices start at CNY 4,299 (~PHP 34.6K) with 12GB/256GB. There’s also a 12GB/512GB variant priced at CNY 4,799 (~PHP 38.6K).

The highest storage configuration for the device is called the HUAWEI MatePad Pro Gold Edition with 16GB/1TB. This is priced at CNY 8,299 (~PHP 66.9K).

The MatePad Pro even has PaperMatte Edition devices coming in. The base model with 12GB/256GB is priced at CNY 4,899 (~PHP 39.4K). The 12GB/512GB variant is priced at CNY 5,399 (~PHP 43.5K). You can also get this with a Keyboard and Pen for CNY 6,999 (~PHP 56.4K).

The highest configuration of the HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.2 PaperMatte Edition is priced at CNY 6,699 (~PHP 53.9K). These devices are slated to launch next week on August 13, 2024 in China.
