Netflix, the well-known streaming platform, partners with TV5 to start streaming Filipino content starting with Brillante Mendoza’s “AMO”. Of course, consumers can expect more local TV shows and media content from TV5 to appear in the streaming platform.

Due to the partnership, Netflix has acquired the rights to stream “AMO”, which will begin airing on April 9th. The mini-series consists of 12 episodes and is centered around President Duterte’s war on drugs. The streaming of the show will also serve as a “trial” for the broadcasting company to assess what other content could be introduced.
“Depending on how AMO will be received by the worldwide audience, TV5 is open to the idea of producing more entertainment content on top of its high rating sports content” Mellanie Yazon-Tolentino, TV5 first vice president said
In line with this partnership, TV5 is also working on broadening and creating more entertainment content. The new partnership is riding along the previous one that the broadcasting company had with well-known sports channel, ESPN.
