Nintendo has officially revealed the Nintendo Switch 2 in full detail.
Nintendo’s latest update brings a number of notable improvements to the original Switch, with the most obvious change being the larger 7.9-inch display, now sporting a 1080p resolution.

This is a big upgrade from the previous model’s 6.2-inch HD screen. However, it’s worth pointing out that the display still uses an LCD panel, not an OLED one like some might have hoped. Despite the fact, the Switch 2 can now run 4K resolution and up to 120fps when docked.

In terms of hardware, Nintendo only mentioned a custom NVIDIA chip. But previous reports claim that the Switch 2 uses a custom NVIDIA Tegra T239 chipset—with a GPU based on the RTX 30-series Ampere architecture.
It’s said to feature 1,536 CUDA cores, 128-bit memory interface, and LPDDR5 RAM, delivering 102GB/s memory bandwidth. Storage-wise, it now has 256GB internal storage still expandable via microSD card slot.
Another key update is the new Joy-Con 2, which now attaches magnetically to the handheld. This allows for quick detachment and reattachment, making it easier to switch between handheld and docked mode.
Notably, the right Joy-Con has this new C-button for the so-called GameChat feature, specifically allowing for voice chats with other Nintendo Switch 2 systems.
Lastly, Nintendo introduced the new Switch 2 Pro gamepad, which comes with a GameChat button, extra GL/GR buttons on the back, and a 3.5mm headphone jack for added convenience.
