The Philippine government has announced a new visa-free entry for 14 days for Chinese citizens starting this coming Friday, January 16. The visa-free entry was revealed by the Department of Foreign Affairs in an announcement supporting President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in encouraging tourism and trade development between China and the Philippines.
Under this ruling, Chinese passport-holding tourists and businessmen enjoy a visa-free stay of up to a maximum of 14 days. However, this stay is nonextendable and cannot be changed to any other type of visa.
Visa-free entry is allowed only through the following airports: Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila, and Mactan-Cebu International Airport in Cebu. For visa-free entry, one needs a valid passport that is at least six months from the date of expiration, return airline tickets, and hotel booking arrangements.The policy would last for one year and would also be reviewed prior to its expiration. Security checks will not be disregarded, according to the DFA.
