ASUS to release Haswell-powered VivoBook V551

ASUS is about to release its latest ultrabook that runs Intel’s new Haswell processor, the VivoBook V551.

The VivoBook V551 (VivoBook S551 in Europe) features an Intel Core i7-4500U Haswell CPU, a NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M (2GB DDR3 RAM), 8GB DDR3 RAM, 1TB hard drive with 24GB SSD cache, and a 15.6-inch 1366 x 768 HD display with a ten finger touch panel.

Other specs include an optical drive, SD card reader, HDMI, USB 2.0 (X2), USB 3.0, Bluetooth 4.0, and a 65 Whr battery. All packed in an aluminum-design body weighing 2.4Kg.

The ASUS VivoBook V551 is expected to sell for around 1,000 USD. No information yet on availability.

    • Tanga. Matipid sa battery ang Haswell. Basa basa ka muna ng ibang site wag puro Yuga.

  4. Asus is good for gaming laptop aside from MSI. But Asus is better than MSI. Hope that I will buy that some laptop.

  5. Marc, ikaw ang tanga. matipid nga sa battery ang haswell pero kung mahinang battery lang kakabit mo wala din kwenta. nagbabasa ako ng ibang website di tulad mo na walang alam sa computer. Kung malakas na battery kinabit nila tulad ng mga current zenbook nila eh di aabot ng 10 hour battery standard ang laptops nila. Matagal na ako windows user ng laptops and masasabi ko lang walang aabot ng 4 hrs kahit naka battery saving mode ka pwera lang kung lenovo thinkpad kinuha mo na malalaki battery life. Magresearch ka muna, muka kasi wala kang pera pambili ng mga computer para masubukan lahat. 10 na naging laptop ko kaya alam ko sinasabi ko. Tingnan mo mabuti mga specs ng laptop tulad ng i7, makakakita mo na malalaking battery tapos sa i3 maliliit lang kaya kahit sabihin mong mas matipid sa battery ang i3 kung maliit lang battery eh di kasing tagal lang nun battery life nung i7. Sobrang dami parin ignorant sa mundo kaya di umuunlad pilipinas eh. Naloloko lagi.

  6. kaya nga sinasabi ko di na maximize haswell kasi maganda power management ng haswell tapos pahina pa ng pahina yung battery kinakabit ng mga manufacturers. yung asus ko i7 5200mah 3 and half hours sa battery saving mode max. i5 ko na macbook air 5-6 hrs. lagi ng difference dahil malaki battery. sa acer aspire s3 ko 3 hrs land din dahil ulv nga pero maliit battery. Sigurado ako asa 5 hrs lang yan max tipid na tipid ka pa sa brightness.

    • Tanga ka pa din para magreklamo sa battery, average user. Kaya di umuunlad ang Pilipinas dahil sa whiner na kagaya mo. Kung bitin sa battery edi bumili ka ng powerbank, wag masyado matipid, hindi ka alipin ng pera. Hirap eh puro BFTB lang alam. O di mo alam ibig sabihin ng BFTB? Tanga kasi. LOL

    The non-Full HD display…

    Even the Nexus 10 had a 2560×1600 display at a fair price. Why not laptops? I’d be a happy camper if this had a 1080p display.

  8. nakakatawa naman to si Marc, sobrang childish. haha di naman dapat magdala ng powerbank kasi pamparami lang ng dala yun eh. Sigurado sa third rate college ka lang pumasok kaya asal kalye ka lang haha. ganyan talaga mga poor at tanga. magaral ka muna para yumaman ka tulad ko. wala ka pa sa level ko kaya hanggang diyan ka lang. Magbasa ka ng dictionary para dumami naman alam mong salita di lang tanga. haha
