Micron on Tuesday has officially announced the world’s first 1.5 terabyte industrial-grade microSD called ‘i400’ at the Embedded World 2022 conference in Nuremberg, Germany. As compared to SanDisk’s first 1TB microSD released in 2019, it had a price tag of USD 450. Micron has not specified its pricing and availability yet, though we can expect the 1.5TB i400 microSD to tag an expensive price point and sourcing it will be tough, given the supply chain plight. That’s exactly what SanDisk did with the release of Extreme microSDHC/microSDXC UHS-I card.
