OnePlus has announced their latest feature, an AI Eraser coming to select OnePlus phones this month. Similar to Samsung’s Object Eraser, OnePlus’ AI Eraser leverages AI to remove unwanted elements in a photo. OnePlus said that the AI Eraser is the result of a substantial R&D investment from the company. The company added that the large language model (LLM) powering the new feature has been ‘trained on a vast dataset that allows it to comprehend complex scenes’. This allows the AI Eraser to ‘intelligently substitute unwanted objects with contextually appropriate elements that naturally elevate the photo’s appeal’. This AI Eraser feature is coming to the OnePlus 12, OnePlus 12R, OnePlus Open, OnePlus 11, and OnePlus Nord CE4 later this month. The Commission on Audit (COA) has previously flagged the system over delays, incomplete features, and operational deficiencies.
