Google is making Android lock screens even more useful with lock screen widgets—starting with the Pixel Tablet and expanding to more devices after Android 16 (QPR1). Whether your Android phone or tablet will get it depends on OEM support, meaning manufacturers will decide whether to bring it to their devices. Other Android tablets and phones should get the feature after Android 16’s QPR1 update—but only if manufacturers decide to support it. ASUS has announced the new ASUS Pad (T3201), marking the company’s return to the Android tablet segment. CapCut has launched a new app called CapCut Pad for Android tablets, bringing more advanced video editing tools and a larger editing workspace designed for bigger screens. Available now through the Google Play Store, CapCut Pad aims to offer what the company calls “desktop-level” video editing on Android tablets. CapCut Pad is now available for download on supported Android tablets. Google is updating Google Chrome on Android tablets and foldables with a new bookmarks bar, bringing the experience closer to desktop.
