Despite being the higher-end model, the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro will only receive two major Android updates (likely up to Android 17), and security patches until 2028. In contrast, the regular Pad 7 is set to get four Android updates (up to Android 19) and security patches through 2031. That means the more affordable Pad 7 will be supported for four years of Android upgrades and six years of security patches, while the Pro version is limited to two years of Android upgrades and three years of security updates. ASUS has announced the new ASUS Pad (T3201), marking the company’s return to the Android tablet segment. CapCut has launched a new app called CapCut Pad for Android tablets, bringing more advanced video editing tools and a larger editing workspace designed for bigger screens. Available now through the Google Play Store, CapCut Pad aims to offer what the company calls “desktop-level” video editing on Android tablets. CapCut Pad is now available for download on supported Android tablets. Google is updating Google Chrome on Android tablets and foldables with a new bookmarks bar, bringing the experience closer to desktop.
