Xiaomi officially launched the Xiaomi Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro 26 tablets for global markets in March, but details on software support were unclear at the time.
Now, the company has quietly listed both devices on its Product Security Center 33, confirming how long each model will receive updates — and the results are a bit unexpected.
Despite being the higher-end model, the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro will only receive two major Android updates (likely up to Android 17), and security patches until 2028.
In contrast, the regular Pad 7 is set to get four Android updates (up to Android 19) and security patches through 2031.
That means the more affordable Pad 7 will be supported for four years of Android upgrades and six years of security patches, while the Pro version is limited to two years of Android upgrades and three years of security updates.
The reason behind this is unclear, but it could also be a typographical error on their part. Xiaomi has yet to release an official statement regarding the difference.

Both tablets arrived in the Philippines last month. They share the same 11.2-inch 3.2K display with a 144Hz refresh rate, 3:2 aspect ratio, and up to 800 nits of brightness.
Under the hood, the Pad 7 runs on a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chip, combined with a 13MP rear camera, Wi-Fi 6E, and an 8850mAh battery with 45W fast charging.
The Pad 7 Pro steps things up with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, 50MP main camera, Wi-Fi 7 support, and faster 67W charging, though it keeps the same 8850mAh battery as the standard model.
