Xiaomi officially launched the Xiaomi Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro tablets for global markets in March, but details on software support were unclear at the time. Despite being the higher-end model, the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro will only receive two major Android updates (likely up to Android 17), and security patches until 2028. That means the more affordable Pad 7 will be supported for four years of Android upgrades and six years of security patches, while the Pro version is limited to two years of Android upgrades and three years of security updates. The Pad 7 Pro steps things up with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, 50MP main camera, Wi-Fi 7 support, and faster 67W charging, though it keeps the same 8850mAh battery as the standard model.
