#Apple Siri lawsuit

Apple has agreed to pay USD 95 million to settle a class-action lawsuit accusing its digital assistant, Siri, of eavesdropping on users’ private conversations. The lawsuit, filed in 2018, claimed that Siri was unintentionally listening in on private conversations across iPhones, iPads, HomePods, and other Siri-enabled devices. The agreement also requires Apple to ensure that any captured conversations are deleted and to make it clearer to users how they can manage the voice data used to improve Siri. Apple has released watchOS 27 beta 3 for developers, bringing its upgraded Siri AI experience and a new standalone Siri app to the Apple Watch for the first time. The new Siri features were first announced during Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June as part of watchOS 27. With beta 3, eligible Apple Watch models can now access the updated Siri experience. Apple said the Siri app works across supported Apple devices, including the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro. The addition of Siri AI and a standalone Siri app gives the Apple Watch a more advanced voice assistant experience.
