Google has just announced an update coming to their Bard AI to help users in programming and software development. In a blog post, Google said that Bard can now generate code as well as debug and explain the code itself for a better understanding of what was coded. They also stated that Bard will be able to code in 20 of the most widely used programming languages such as C++, Java, Javascript, Python, and Typescript. Moreover, this means users can use Bard to write functions on Google Sheets, making it simpler to sort out spreadsheets. Google has also said that if and when Bard does get existing open-source code, it will cite the source. Google seems to also be aware that Bard's reception from users has been rather mixed with Google calling it an "early experiment" and that at times, it may provide inaccurate, misleading, or false information. Therefore, they encourage users to double-check Bard's responses and to test and check the code for any errors, bugs, or vulnerabilities.
