Always wanted me to get the BlackBerry PlayBook but have not had the chance to get a good deal. Well, it looks like the BlackBerry Store is now doing a $299 sale on all models of the PlayBook. With BB PlayBook OS 2.0 coming out this quarter and the Android Market port that comes with it, the 64GB Playbook seems like a steal. I think this price drop might just be temporary (fine print says it will be only until February 4) or it is possible they will be announcing the 2nd generation PlayBook and wanted to rid of all the remaining inventories. RIM Philippines is offering BlackBerry customers to get the BB Playbook this Christmas by offering a discount of up to Php8,600 on any variant of the 7-inch tablet. The Php8,600 discount can then be used to purchase a BlackBerry Playbook of any variant (I guess from the SRP). We just got our review unit of the BlackBerry Playbook today and we got word that Globe has taken lead on the release of the tablet in the Philippines with a possible launch date later this month or early next month. It certainly will not be locked considering there's no SIM module on the Playbook.
