Research In Motion (RIM) announced its first simultaneous Asia Pacific (APAC) wide Hackathon called the BlackBerry JamHack. The BlackBerry JamHack is an event wherein four-member teams consisting of developers, designers and/or entrepreneurs compete with each other in developing apps for BlackBerry 10. The JamHack will take place in ten different cities across Asia Pacific over two consecutive weekends starting on October 12. Winning teams will represent their city in the Asia Pacific Finals and will receive an all-expenses paid trip to BlackBerry Jam Asia in Bangkok on November 29 and 30. RIM fought back and introduced its first touch screen device -- the Blackberry Strom (9530). It also has mobile streaming, allows tethering to your laptop to share internet and can sync your desktop iTunes music files using BlackBerry Media Sync. The top feature of Blackberry is the full suite of email connectivity and management -- MS Exchange, IBM Lotus Domino, Novell GroupWise as well as enterprise email account and personal email accounts -- that trumps MobileMe by a mile.
