#Boku FB Payments

In a press conference today, Globe and Boku explained their deal to provide a mobile payment platform for GCash users using Paymo. Starting March 24, 2010 you will see Boku/Paymo as an option to purchase virtual goods on Facebook games operated by Zynga and PlayFish. When you used "Mobile Payments" as an option, it will allow you to choose Globe GCash and then you can just top up any amount (max of Php40,000 per day) using you GCash MPIN. GCash users can also do transactions on any other sites or games that are powered by Boku/Paymo. It remains to be seen how much transactions will be generated with GCash/Boku over Facebook games. The feature joins existing cashless payment options on LRT-2 which include mobile NFC payments and GCash Commute QR. With Mastercard contactless payments now available on LRT-2, we're making everyday travel more seamless and secure, helping commuters save time and move through their journeys with greater confidence," said Jason Crasto, Mastercard’s Country Manager for the Philippines. The company said QR Ph and e-wallets combined represented 76% of total payment volume and 9 in 10 transactions on its platform, pointing to continued growth in mobile-first digital payments among Philippine businesses.
