TikTok is testing a new AI-powered tool that helps creators detect unauthorized AI-generated content that uses their face or likeness. The feature, first spotted by social media consultant Matt Navarra, is currently being tested with a small group of creators in the United States. TikTok confirmed the limited rollout, saying the tool is designed to help creators identify and report AI-generated videos or images that impersonate them. The new feature follows YouTube's rollout of its own AI likeness detection tool, which is already available to eligible creators and has been expanded to celebrities and talent agencies. To use TikTok's feature, creators must first complete an identity verification process through Jumio. Creators must actively opt in before the platform begins monitoring AI-generated content that resembles them. TikTok has not announced when the AI likeness detection tool will become available to more creators or expand outside the United States.
