Crunchyroll has announced upcoming price increases for its Fan and Mega Fan subscription tiers in the Philippines as part of its continued global expansion of anime content. Despite the price increase, Crunchyroll says its membership tiers will continue to offer the same set of features. The Fan tier includes ad-free streaming, full access to the Crunchyroll library, simulcast episodes shortly after airing in Japan, streaming on one device at a time and offline viewing. The Mega Fan tier builds on this by allowing streaming on up to four devices simultaneously, offline viewing, and access to the Crunchyroll Game Vault. Crunchyroll has not yet confirmed whether the Ultimate Fan subscription will continue to be available in the Philippines. Crunchyroll subscription to be implemented on simulcast titles according to a blog post from Crunchyroll. Viewers who would like to watch any of the uploaded new or continuing series will be required to upgrade to a Crunchyroll premium plan that starts at USD 7.99 per month. Crunchyroll will be introducing a new seasonal simulcast that will offer initial episodes of select titles as part of a "seasonal sampler" for free viewing for a limited period.
