Department of Science and Technology (DOST) has partnered with the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) to implement the Smarter Philippines Through Data Analytics R&D Training and Adoption (or SPARTA) program. Science and Technology Secretary Fortunato dela Pena said that the people who will undergo the program are people from the government, academe, and people who are working in the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry. The Executive Director of the ICT Office of the Department of Science and Technology, Louis Napoleon Casambre said yesterday that around 93% of the country may have access to free Wi-Fi services by the end of the year. The Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Office has asked for a P3.2 billion budget for 2017 to fund and complete this project.
