plans on testing a low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite for their connection in rural areas. DITO, one of the mobile networks in the Philippines, has signed a deal to pilot-test a LEO satellite. This was signed with OneWeb Network Access Associates Limited, a broadband satellite communications company in London. DITO Chief Technology Officer Rodolfo D. DITO has mentioned that they are talking to other satellite companies and their offers. One type of satellite is an Earth-orbiting or geostationary satellite, which is positioned at an altitude of roughly 35,800 km. In contrast, a LEO satellite is typically positioned at an altitude of about 1,000 km. There are currently 648 satellites in OneWeb, arranged in 12 coordinated orbital planes 1,200 km above the planet.
