Folks over at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Media Lab have been working on a lot of cool stuff and one of them is an interactive Dynamic Shape Display called inFORM that seem to have come from a sci-fi film. According to the team, they’re “currently exploring a number of application domains for the inFORM shape display” including Geospatial data (for 3D models and designs) and Volumetric Data for medical tools such as CT scanners.
