Last week, Facebook announced that it would limit the spread of misinformation about the novel coronavirus or COVID-19. Today, Rob Leathern, Team Leader of Facebook's ads and business products, has tweeted that they will be banning ads that sell medical face masks. Facebook has already started prohibiting health and medical claims on product listings related to the coronavirus. https://twitter.com/robleathern/status/1236111007837233152 Instagram, also owned by Facebook, has started to follow its parent company's steps and is starting to ban all misinformation related to COVID-19. Facebook is launching a new game, Your Profile, Your Home where users can build their own virtual home on Facebook and learn how to personalize their account based on their preferences. Through the game users can learn more about the settings of Facebook such as Privacy settings, Advertiser preferences, and security settings. Through Your Profile, Your Home, Facebook hopes that users will have an easy way to find out just how safe and secure their profiles are.
