Facebook has announced its new digital wallet, Calibra, and its new global currency powered by blockchain technology, Libra. Calibra is a newly formed Facebook subsidiary whose goal is to provide financial services that will people access and participate in the Libra network. Facebook also emphasizes that Calibra will protect the user's privacy and will not share account information or financial data with Facebook or any third party without customer consent. This means Calibra customers’ account information and financial data will not be used to improve ad targeting on the Facebook family of products. According to Facebook, approximately 70% of small businesses in developing countries lack access to credit and $25 billion is lost by migrants every year through remittance fees. Facebook is launching a new game, Your Profile, Your Home where users can build their own virtual home on Facebook and learn how to personalize their account based on their preferences. Through the game users can learn more about the settings of Facebook such as Privacy settings, Advertiser preferences, and security settings.
