Facebook has announced that its Nearby Friends, Weather alerts, Location History, and Background Location services will no longer be available on August 1, 2022. According to Facebook, the said services will no longer be available after May 31, 2022. Information you shared that was used for these experiences, including Location History and Background Location, will stop being collected after May 31, 2022, even if you have previously enabled them. Facebook is allowing you to access and download your Location History until August 1, 2022. After that, any Location History or Background Location information you’ve previously shared will be deleted. Facebook's Nearby Friends is a feature that lets you share your current location with your Facebook friends, while Weather Alerts appear on your notifications to give you current weather conditions in your area. Facebook is launching a new game, Your Profile, Your Home where users can build their own virtual home on Facebook and learn how to personalize their account based on their preferences. Through the game users can learn more about the settings of Facebook such as Privacy settings, Advertiser preferences, and security settings.
