In a report to the NTC, Converge has said that it has laid down over 523,000 kilometers of fiber nationwide, more than double from last year where they rolled out 260,000 kilometers of total fiber assets. The current fiber cable kilometers of the company consists of 403,740 kilometers of last-mile network ando ver 119,000 kilometers of fiber backbone which include its domestic subsea cable system. Converge was the first to deploy 400G data transmission capacity on its metro backbone which was further doubled to 800G, boosting the fiber network’s capacity to push huge amounts of data throughout the length of the cable, in anticipation of the use of next-generation, hyperscale capacity applications.
