Samsung has yet another superphone up its sleeve but it's not any better than the S2 -- the Samsung Galaxy Z is supposed to be a cheaper alternative to the i9100 SII . The Galaxy Z is basically like the SLCD equivalent of the Galaxy S2 and sporting a different chipset, the NVidia Tegra 2. The Galaxy S2 is still very popular so I reckon we won't see the Galaxy Z in the Philippines anytime soon. We're estimating a retail price of around Php27k but it should be lower than that by the time it reaches the Philippines. It's already confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy Tab will be launched in the Philippines before end of October (that's next week!) and we finally got the retail price down to the dot -- Php34,990 (thanks to our source). The price isn't surprising (though I thought it would be a bit higher by a couple grand) considering its baby brother, the Galaxy S, sells for Php32,000. More "in the flesh" photos and first impressions of the Galaxy Tab here. So, anybody got spare change for a Galaxy Tab?
