Meta has released an official WhatsApp app for compatible Garmin smartwatches. The app is now available for free through the Garmin Connect IQ Store. The app is currently supported on select Garmin models, including devices from the Forerunner, Venu, Vivoactive, and Fenix series. Availability depends on device compatibility, which can be checked through the Connect IQ Store. The rollout brings more standalone messaging functionality to Garmin smartwatches, reducing the need to rely on smartphones for basic communication tasks. Garmin has just announced a number of devices, including the Fenix 3, Epix and the VivoActive. The latter is Garmin's latest sports smartwatch. At only 38 grams, the VivoActive by Garmin is perhaps the lightest smartwatch.
