Globe has used the Emergency Cell Broadcast (ECB) system to remind users of the SIM registration deadline. This action was taken by Globe in an effort to push its customers to register their SIMs in order to prevent the deactivation of their mobile services. Out of its 86.7 million customers, Globe had recorded more than 35.8 million SIM registrations as of April 22. Globe urges its customers to register their SIM cards, even as it requests that the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) prolong the registration deadline past April 26. An extension of up to 120 days is permitted by the SIM Registration Act's Implementing Rules and Regulations. The registration of its consumers is something that Globe is still working to improve. Customers can simply seek assistance with their SIM registration needs thanks to the conversion of 147 stores and 25 EasyHubs into help centers. Globe regularly participates in SIM Registration Caravans conducted by the National Telecommunications Commission since January in order to reach users in outlying locations.
