Globe Telecom has officially partnered with Starlink to bring Direct to Cell (DTC) satellite service to the Philippines, making it the first telco in Southeast Asia to offer this breakthrough technology. Globe President and CEO Carl Cruz highlighted the significance of the partnership, saying, “This partnership with Starlink marks a historic step in our mission to build a digitally inclusive nation. Globe is set to announce that they will be offering Starlink's Direct to Cell service in the Philippines. As the first mobile operator in the Philippines to market Starlink’s Direct to Cell (DTC) service, Globe is leveraging space-based technology to reach the most geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas of our archipelago. Globe launches Globe Starlink 99 and 299 plans, now available through the GlobeOne app. Previously: Globe Starlink 99, Globe Starlink 299 to be offered via GlobeOne app Since February 2026, Globe's announcement of their partnership with Starlink has been heavily anticipated by many Filipino consumers especially those in areas where there is very weak or no cellular signal. The Globe-Starlink service will act as a local roaming service that will automatically be made available and enabled when a subscriber loses Globe's cellular signal.
