Google has announced that the Fitbit app will soon become the new Google Health app, a platform that combines health, fitness, sleep, and wellness data into one place. The Google Health app will keep many Fitbit features while adding new tools and a redesigned layout. Google said users will still have control over their data and can choose what information to save or delete. The app will also work with the new Google Health Coach powered by Gemini. Existing Fitbit users will not need to download a separate app, as their data will transfer automatically. Google has recently confirmed the completion of its acquisition of fitness band and smartwatch brand Fitbit. Rick Osterloh, Google's Senior Vice President for Devices & Services, confirmed it through the Google blog. He clarifies that the acquisition will make Google work closely to create new devices and services that will help consumers "enhance their knowledge, success, health, and happiness."  Google also ensures consumers that it will protect Fitbit's privacy, including its health information and data.
