Google is now allowing users to request that more of their personal information be removed from the search engine results. A new Google privacy policy is aimed at stopping the activities of hackers, or malicious entities preying on sensitive information that can cause harm to users. Previously, users can ask Google to remove personal data from search results although it was limited to ID numbers, banking information, photos of signatures and medical records. Users can access the Google support page to register URLs containing their personal identity information that should be restricted from showing in search results. Google will need to approve the removal of a user’s personal information. If the request is granted, Google will remove the URL containing a user’s personal information from all search results. There was some sort of mass panic last night when Google was spewing a warning "this site may harm your computer" on all their search results.
