MediaTek announced the latest addition to its G Series, the Helio G91 chipset, designed for entry-level 4G smartphones. The Helio G91 has most if not the same hardware as its G88 and G85 predecessors, but offering an upgraded ISP (image signal processor). The new Helio G91 chipset supports sensors up to 108MP, giving it a competitive advantage in the market. Xiaomi has silently unveiled its next budget-entry offering, the Redmi 12 equipped with a MediaTek Helio G99 chip and three rear cameras with a 50MP primary + 8MP ultrawide lenses.
