HMD has launched a new ultra-basic device with the HMD 100. The HMD 100 comes with a 1.77-inch display at 160 x 128 resolution and runs the S30+ operating system. The HMD 100 includes a 3.5mm headphone jack, a micro USB port for charging, and a removable 800mAh battery. However, the $399 Asus Eee PC 1000HE is looking to be a worthy replacement to my MSI Wind U100. The Eee PC 1000HE uses a newer Intel Atom CPU -- the N280 which runs at 1.66GHz (667MHz FSB compared the to 533MHz of the N270) as well as an HD-capable Intel GN40 chipset for smoother video playback. Powering the device is the MediaTek Helio G100 Ultimate processor paired with 4GB RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage.
