As we inch closer to the launch of the new Windows OS, Intel let us in on the things that we can expect from the Atom Z2760, which is one of the processors that will power the upcoming Windows 8 tablets. In a nutshell, the Intel Z2760 aka Clover Trail is a 32nm 1.8GHz dual-core SoC with four threads which is specifically made for Windows 8 tablets. I've had the beta version of Windows 7 installed on my Intel Core 2 Quad, a Compaq Presario, and an Atom-based netbook for about a week now and so far, Microsoft's upcoming operating system gave a fairly good impression. Despite Intel's suggestion that the new Atom N330 Dual Core was made for nettops, that doesn't mean netbooks can't have them installed onboard. PC Corner is offering chassis upgrades to support the Intel Atom N330 Dual Core. But Intel says the Atom wasn't built for gaming of heavy applications.
