Amazon will be holding a press event this week and a lot are speculating that it will be about the successor to the Kindle Fire. Evidence about the next Fire are becoming more widespread with new images of the suspected Kindle Fire 2 surfaced on the web. See images below courtesy of The Verge: Judging from the photos, the new Fire will have video calling features with the addition of a front-facing camera, microphone and Skype integration. It was also reported that Amazon will be using Nokia Maps to add navigation services to the new Fire which means that the new tablet will have GPS. One thing I can be sure of is that the Kindle Fire 2 will be priced aggressively like the original Fire to compete with other 7-inchers out there. We headed off to the office of HTC's Philippine Distributor yesterday to get a first hand preview of the HTC WildFire and after some time with the handset, let me share with you my first hand impressions. We were actually shown two units -- an engineering unit of the grey-colored Wildfire with a trackball and the final black-colored unit with the trackpad. The Wildfire looks a bit like the Nexus One crossed with the Desire with the combo of the touch panel and the trackpad.
