Amazon has announced two new tablets for its Kindle Fire series: a 7-inch and an 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD. The 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD has a 1920x1200 large screen IPS display at 254 ppi. The smaller 7-inch Kindle Fire HD has almost the same specs as its 8.9-inch brother except for the processor which is a dual-core 1.2GHz TI OMAP4 4460 and screen resolution which goes down to 1280x800, same resolution as the Nexus 7. The Kindle Fire HD is running Amazon's version of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and will start shipping units on November 20. According to HTC representatives, the HTC Wildfire will have a suggested retail price of Php17,500 but our reseller contact is offering it for just Php15,500. Just been informed by an authorized HTC phone reseller that the HTC Wildfire is already available in the Philippines with a selling price of Php15,500. With the current price of the HTC Hero in the upwards of Php20k+, I think the HTC Wildfire with a price of Php15,500 will toss it off the store shelves.
