Amazon has announced two new tablets for its Kindle Fire series: a 7-inch and an 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD. The 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD has a 1920x1200 large screen IPS display at 254 ppi. The smaller 7-inch Kindle Fire HD has almost the same specs as its 8.9-inch brother except for the processor which is a dual-core 1.2GHz TI OMAP4 4460 and screen resolution which goes down to 1280x800, same resolution as the Nexus 7. The Kindle Fire HD is running Amazon's version of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and will start shipping units on November 20. Once you get used to the HTC Desire and Legend, you will really miss the AMOLED when you go for the Wildfire.
