Just when we thought Full HD is the king, LG Display has just announced the "world's first" Quad HD LCD panel for smartphones. The Quad HD (QHD) AH-IPS LCD panel bears a resolution of 2560 X 1440, which is four times more pixels than HD (1280 x 720). This new high-resolution display measures 5.5-inch across, boasts a pixel density of 538ppi and is capable of producing 430 nits of brightness. According to LG, this new advancement in smartphone display technology "will enable consumers to fully enjoy more life-like and crisp images, and even Blu-ray equivalent video, on their smartphones." {via} Cosmic Technologies has just announced what could be the first quad-SIM phone in the country, the Cherry Mobile Quad Q70. The Cherry Mobile Quad Q70 has a suggested retail price of Php3,499. Samsung said the technology is designed for its latest TVs which have brighter displays and more powerful processors. Alongside the announcement, TCL also introduced its newest display tech, Super-QD Mini LED (SQD-Mini LED).
