Commuters riding LRT-2 can now pay for their fares using Mastercard credit, debit and prepaid cards. Mastercard credit, debit and prepaid cards can now be used when riding the LRT-2. The feature joins existing cashless payment options on LRT-2 which include mobile NFC payments and GCash Commute QR. The Department of Transportation (DOTr) in partnership with the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) are set to launch a new vaccination program at select LRT-2 stations starting February 22, 2022. The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has announced that the LRT Line 2 East Extension will start operations on July 6. This project adds 3.793km to the current 13.8km of the LRT-2 line with two new stations – the Marikina-Pasig and Antipolo stations.
