To help keep social distancing norms, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Land Transportation Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has partnered with PayMaya to allow drivers and operators of PUVs to accept cashless payment options. This is in line with LTFRB's mandate for taxis and TNVS to adopt cashless transactions. The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has announced on their Facebook page that cashless payments are preferred to lessen direct contact. Aside from having calibrated meters, taxi drivers should also have online payment services available for cashless transactions. The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has recommended the termination of the five-year motorcycle taxi pilot program. LTFRB Chairman and motorcycle taxi Technical Working Group lead (TWG) Teofilo Guadiz said that no new operators should be accredited under the program.
